9 Events of June 17, 1992

• At 21h30, a petrol attendant & a security guard at a petrol station observe around 300 armed men coming from the direction of KwaMadala Hostel, crossing the highway & approaching Boipatong. They raise the alarm & are fetched by a security company & taken away.
• At 22h00, workers on the late shift at nearby factories Iscor, Metal Box and Cape Gate observe 2 groups of police, one on each side of the township, dropping off men from Casspirs at points next to Slovo squatter camp. Soon afterwards, attacks begin & 20 people are killed.
